Welcome to the Listening Hands
Associate Polarity Practitioner Program!

To find out more, e-mail to: gtal@nc.rr.com

The APP Program supports the student to "listen with their hands". The development of intuition is balanced with a basis of secure knowledge of the esoteric anatomy of the body. The student learns a multitude of Polarity Bodywork treatments to use in working with a client. These treatments are based on the principles and fundamentals of Polarity Theory. Because the student is taught the theory and principles of the work, they become able to create their own polarity sessions based on these principles. The program also includes: Polarity Yoga, Polarity Nutrition, the Body-Mind Relationship, Business Practices and Ethics, Communication Skills, Energetic and Orthodox Anatomy and Clinical Supervision.

At the APP Level, an emphasis is placed on personal experience. Since students are practicing with one-another in class, as they study the techniques, they receive Polarity work and naturally explore their own issues as a part of the learning process.

An APP program can not take the place of therapy, itself, however, and it is recommended that students take issues that emerge in class and continue working with them outside of the classroom, drawing from their own resources. A part of that resourcing may be the five sessions students are required to have with an RPP as a part of the APP training.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro, NC
and the Triangle Area

For those who may be coming from a distance or relocating for the duration of the program, we will be happy to assist in any way we can to connect you with potential places to stay or live for a period of time. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro area is known for its wonderful atmosphere. Called "The Southern Part of Heaven", it is home to the University of North Carolina and has long been acknowledged as a place of learning and progressive thinking.

Though it still has a small town feel, because of the three major Universities (in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill), there are many cultural events. The Research Triangle Park hosts many high tech and computer industries including IBM and Glaxo Pharmaceuticals. The airport is less than 1/2 hour from the school's location. There are many healing centers in the area. There is excellent vegetarian food, both restaurants and markets. The weather is wonderful most of the year. In fact, many students' favorite spot to put their massage table is on the balcony! If this hasn't convinced you, we are half-way between the mountains and the beach - about 2 1/2 hours either direction!
